I remember when I first started learing basics of Siebel Architecture. Its was a great experience working on a three-tier architecture for one of the world's biggest organization(client). As per my experience and thinking your journey is more tuff if you don't get a chance to have a feel of Siebel application initially at a strt of your career.
Going few years back, that was my the first day in a partnered organization where I was hired as a fresher to be a part of Siebel CRM team. First day was just general introduction with team and meet people and managers. Next day, I saw this application for the first time in my life. It was a blue attractive screen with few buttons - but at that moment I never though, how vast this application is. At that moment, it came to my mind, is this what we call 'Siebel' we would be working at. Its just few buttons and tabs on webpages with navigation as any other simple application. Whats the requirment for that big team .... but, as I started working on Siebel and got to know after attending few basic traning sessions I found how tuff is it even to install this applications on different platform. Clustring, Load Balancing, System Requirments all these things were new to me. After few days, I got to attend an internal training on Siebel Architecture - Oh gosh!, Confused initially with Siebel Servers, Gateway servers, Web Servers (That was obvious for a newbiee who never worked on this sort of 3-tier architecture). But yeah, one thing I remember though it was not easy, it was fun to haun my skills as a Siebel Administrator. That was the beginning of my career. Now, working a Siebel Architect I know I have gained rather a bigger understanding and picture of Siebel. Now, I feel why biggest of the organizations spending millions on these CRM packages and how they go through planning and implementation phase. Its a big thing.. really!!
